Our whole class got a caterpillar. Our caterpillar started out as eggs. Then the stage was in the larvae stage. Then it molted its exoskeleton and head cap.Then it is a caterpillar. Then it is in the chrysalis. Then it is a butterfly. His name is Sydney. I am so sad because he is a butterfly. the pro legs are to climb. The true legs are to dig. The spiracles are so that you can breath. The bristles are so the sun doesn't re fled off and so birds don't eat him. Some of the chrysalis have become a butterfly. I forgot to add something before the chrysalis before it is in a j shape.  It is the best thing that you had ever had. I wish that they could live fever. I forgot to say what they eat. They eat a type of food that is called mallow. Almost all of the chrysalis have emerged. I love the butterfly!!!!!! I am so glad that i got them. I want to watch the butterfly fly.
I am so happy that they are a butterfly!!!!!!!! The butterfly is called the painted lady. I LOVE THEM!!!!!
